How it works.
It’s simple: creating waste costs time and money. Filtering water or flux tanks with crossflow membranes saves thousands of dollars over dead-end filters.
In the Concentrate Tank soluble ions are converted to insoluble solids using peroxide.
After peroxide-treatment, the solution is pumped through crossflow Microfilters.
The suspended solids travel through the inside of the membranes and return to the Concentrate Tank or are discharged to an IBC Tote or Filter Press.
The solids-free flux solution permeates the membranes and returns to the flux tank or process tank.
Throughout the day, a small quantity of cleaned solution is driven backward across the membranes to clear the solids build-up.
Over time, the permeate volume slows and the membranes need regeneration. To regain full capacity, the system is shut down for 4 hours while 5 gallons of 5% HCl flushes through the membranes to restore original performance.
This membrane reactivation is usually done on a weekly basis.
