How H2SO4 recovery works.

Contaminants and heavy metals, such as iron and zinc, slow your pickling process and create sludge. Our system precipitates the metals and returns recovered acid to your process.

Waste acid is fed through a Pre-filter to remove suspended particles. 

The filtered solution passes through the Primary Exchanger.  Chilled recovered acid returning to the Process Tank cools the hot incoming acid, greatly reducing energy consumption.

The incoming waste acid enters the Reactor, where it is chilled to form ferrous sulfate crystals. The crystals quickly settle to the bottom of the Crystal Settler while the recovered acid overflows from the top of the Settler into a pump station. The recovered acid travels back through the Primary Exchanger, where it is reheated before returning to the Process Tank.

The crystals are pumped from the Crystal Settler to a Centrifuge, separating the thick slurry into dry ferrous sulfate crystals and a small acid stream.
